Enable directory search

I think i changed some setting on my phone. Normally just start typing the name and they come up but now nothing happens. Where is the setting to enable this again please. Currently i first have to go into directory then start seaching. ta

Not sure what phone you have, but on my E71 it's here:

Settings - Phone - Call - Contact Search = On
