Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me (love the N95's functions and camera but cant do without the E71's keyboard and sexy slimness)..
I am syncing my exchange 2007 account back to the two phones throughout the day and using the latest version of Mail4exchange from Nokia. However, I am having some issues with my E71 syncing through the day on the calendar items (but the rest seems to sync fine). The sync will get all the emails but will stall on the calendar entries saying an error has occurred.
This ONLY happens when my N95 is also turned on and syncing to the server as well (at different intervals, nevertheless). But on the other hand, the N95 never has this issue with the calendar items and gets everything 100%. When it is turned off and if you "full resync" the E71, it will just keep working until the N95 is back on and syncing.
Any ideas anyone? Its driving me nuts and the forums in Nokia isnt much help either (they tend to be really lax with M4E questions which they support half-ar$edly).
Thanks..
What about trying periodic polling, rather than "always on", you can still get 15 minute updates (not the same, I know, but something to try)
Already switched it off the "always on" as I am real "tight" on battery usage. The settings are 1 hour peak and 4 hours off..
Still the same effect unfortunately..
I had a similar problem with my e71 but not exactly the same as you. I was syncing 3 phone, an N95-8GB and an E71 both running dataviz roadsync (version 3) and an N95-8GB running mail for exchange. The problem was when I set a recuring even in the calendar of the E71, the sync would fail when doing the calendar. I think the E71 must handle recuring event differently to previous Nokia's because if I set the same event in either of the N95's it synced fine.
I ended up removing roadsync from the 2 phones and installing mail for exchange on all three and syncing has been fine ever since. You'r problem could be something similar to this even though youre using M4E on all phones.
Thanks for that info Stezos.. I was actually going to do the opposite to you - both my phones are on M4E and was going to change one of them to Roadsync (I have the lic for the old version, but want to upgrade to the new one - for html emails).
I am not too sure at the end of the day it is an issue with M4E but rather the E71 (since both of them uses the same SIS to install).
