Some advice needed - E51

Sorry for the generalised nature of the subject header, but having just got one of these phones for good old Chrimbo, I'm finding myself unable to penetrate it and would like to pose a couple of questions...

1: I am 100% used to the 6230 and 6300 "go to" menu via the left selection key. This is unshakable for me - is there any way to have a menu like this on the E51 which gives me immediate shortcut access via one key to the likes of SMS Inbox, music player, profile types etc?

2: When replying to a text message, is there any way to 'speed up the process'? That is, with my previous 2 phones I'd read the message and press the centre selection key twice and hey presto I'd be in the text message editor. Now I have to hit the left selection key to access 'options' and navigate a couple of menu branches before I finally get to the same place. It's just not intuitive.

Thanks for advice.

Well...on E51 you actually always have 5 shortcuts on the screen ..if you have the active screen activated. And you can have 2 more shortcuts on the soft keys. And you have 4 extra keys with shortcuts that you can change to anything you want, except for the menu button..and even have 2 shortcuts/button...long press/short press.
So I don't see the reason why you need an extra menu for shortcuts??

As for the sms reply...that's the way it works on a S60 phone...so get used to it. 😊
I was very used to SonyEricsson phones so I had a really hard time getting used to S60... But now I think it works ok...but sometimes I miss some feautures from SE...
