Hi there!
I recently found a JAVA programm for the 7650 that is called "Active Viewer". This is a VNC tool 😊
Has anyone already got this to work?
Is there any guide on the net, how get to work this program with a VNC server on the pc?
As i'm not that familiar with VNC, i'm not sure how to configure the VNC server on the pc properly.
I always get the same error on the 7650 if i'm trying to connect:
"Connecting...
Reading Supported Version...
and then "java.io.EOFExeption" in a window, and thats it 😞
I would be really thankful for a step-by-step guide how to get this to work.
Thanks in advance and excuse my bad english,
stefan
p.s.: the program can be downloaded right there: http://my-symbian.info/7650/applications/applications.php?faq=6&fldAuto=101
this may be a bit of a non starter - the version that is downloadable is old - not necessarily 7650 supported. The later versions, that are supported for the 7650 can no longer be downloaded due to piracy problems their site says.
I tried using this one in your link, and found that whilst it connects, there is no talkback. I use vnc on linux, and found that it establishes a connection on the vnc ports (for me, 5901 as I use display number 1, not ero) but never spoke back to the phone. Not sure why, but just gave up when I found out about the versioning matter.
Found exactly the same situation with the java telnet app - establishes on the linux box, but never actually talks back properly.
oh well, vnc is real slow anyway, so what with the screen size would probably never been anything more than a 'wow cool' sort of thing anyway.
