The Nokia e71 was shown as a good phone with a HUGE battery (same as the one in E90) , BUT my e71 battery can manage only 2 , maximum 3 days . Some say that the Garmin app drains the battery even in when the app it's off . But in my case it's the same whit or without Garmin . PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Make sure your case (if you have one) isn't pressing any of the side keys, which might illuminate your keyboard unnecessarily.

Other than that, I can recommend having your battery checked out by the Nokia service center. They recently did a check on mine to confirm it was still holding charge correctly as part of a regular service check. Maybe your battery is not holding its complete charge?

3 days (if your using it all the time) is possibly a world record for the E71...I'm not sure you've anything to worry about unless your talking 3 days on standby?

I have seen that noone replied... i suppose that most of you knows this fact about Garmin, but there are allways some of us that have been missing something...
I had the same problem, with the battery lasting for 2 days maximum...
But after some research,i found out that it was because of a Garmin's bug...
So, you should go to Garmin -> Tools -> Settings -> System -> Launch background service .
Even if it is disabled, you should enable it and exit garmin.
Then turn on garmin again and disable Launch background service....That's all !!
So,from 2 days lasting battery, i am today at the 4th day and i am sure that it will last another day or more...

I don't tend to run my E71 from brim to brim, but it'll go for two or three days without issue. I'm a heavy user of the device anyway, but even when I'm not using it, it's connected to my email and Exchange accounts for over 12 hours of the day.

What I have noticed with power consumption is that the 3G radio is very heavy in use (talk, data) but no different to 2G when in standby. There isn't much of a difference when using the GPRS model or WLAN radio for web site browsing, email or similar.
