How do I completely format my Symbian o/s?
While Nokia remembering my settings, bookmarks... etc I'm sure comes as a welcome addition to most N96 owners, I prefer a clean wipe each time I upgrade. Gets rid of all the crap put on my phone from trials... etc.
Any ideas how to achieve this please? Simply reinstalling the software still keeps my settings.

Try *#7370# followed by your lock code from the standby screen.
as far as i know it can not be done, the only thing that can be done is the *#7780# which restores the phone to defaults and leaves the user info intact. but it does not reinstall firmware, just 'cleans the house' a little bit.
the *#7370# will wipe your data and everything else, will clean your phone niecly tho. and also you can always reinstall firmware if you are into such drastic measures. it is always wise to back up your data period.
