Web browser (and other apps) wont launch on N96

Hello,

I've got the Nokia N96 and I'm on the Three network here in the UK.

I'm exhausted with dealing with Three and want some advice.

I've installed the latest software updater of version 12.043.

The web browser ceased to launch when I was on the original software version. I've tried using opera and that wont launch either.

Facebook app wouldn't launch either.

I've removed all the apps I downloaded e.g. google maps and facebook.

When I try and launch the BBC iPlayer it tells me that "WidgetUtil:Memory full close some applications" - I dont have other applications running and the phone memory is relatively clean except for some phone numbers and text messages.

I've tried soft and hard resets.

Three seem to think that it's to do with high end devices and access points. Is this true? Can someone elaborate? They are saying that the next Nokia update will have a fix for this. IS this true?

What are my alternatives?

Thanks.

to my knowledge, v12 is not out officially for 3 branded handsets. although i have de-branded mine and upgraded to this anyway....

what product code do you have? (under the battery)

and how did you get v12? have you de-branded?

as said, mine is running this and all apps work ok for me, facebook, youtube, web, maps etc....

why not try re-installing the firmware in NSU if possible?

My phone is registered with Nokia online so I got the updates before Three sanctioned them.

I managed to fix it myself ( I knew I would have to figure it out myself as technical help from Three was abysmal) by doing a deep reset (*#7370#). This was the one thing that Three didn't ask me to do - jump up and down, spin on head but not a deep reset.

Panic over.
