here's a shot of my n95 8GB:

i want to keep the active standby apps, but wanna get rid of those extra lines of writings. any idea???:con?
note: i tried turning active standby OFF, that definitely takes away the writings, but also the active standby apps shortcuts, which i DON'T wanna loose.😡
help please :icon4:
looks like you need to use a program called ROM patcher with some patches, not sure i'd recommend it, wouldn't that be hacking the phone?? :con? hmm not sure, here are the links i found though if you want to give it a go...

good luck! 😊
had a look into them, looks ok, don't mind hacking into the phone as long as it answers one question:
1. once I patch the ROM, can the phone be returned to 'as out of factory' look if i need to? or it's a 'permanent-hardware-patch' process.
in short: is there a way back?
The only way to get rid of those extra bits and pieces on an N series phone is to hack it. On the E series, the active standby screen is fully customisable and you can get rid of all the unecessary things without having to hack the phone. Yeah, completely crazy I know.
