I'll admit that Nokia's DT-29 phone stand, as shipped with the 5800 XpressMusic is somewhat more professional than my own paper clip version. Aaron, over at the N82 blog has put up a gallery of photos and comments on how well it works propping up his N82 for video watching and capturing - I think he's right and Nokia should market this as a standalone accessory.

It's a simple device. Any 3rd party could make one and sell it for any phone on the market. I would love an origami version in credit card format.

Uhh, trace it out (the shape) on card, cut, and use?
Great minds think alike.... I'll do one now and put it up for download, save others a job..... 8-)
Dear Steve,
Are you trying to put us out of business? No more fancy free phones for you, pal!
Regards,
Nokia.
Great idea. But ehh, what about a how-to cut a working 5800 from cardboard?
This is so incredibly simple, i had to run an make one for my ipod touch, its now in my works bag ready for the coach tomorrow!
The silly little clear plastic thing you get from apple is no good if its in a case, an I certainly wouldnt take it out while at work.
Ill be honest, I actually made two as they are simple.
There's something a bit like this with the Nokia 770 tablet, two plastic pieces that slot together to make a stand.
This would cost so little to make from cardboard, I wonder if a PDA magazine could give it away on a front cover (maybe PDA Essentials Steve?).
haha, i remember when the n82 came out you didnt think anythin of it... now you don't shut up about it!! (dont blame ya tho)😃
@Pawlee: I still don't like the N82's keypad or it's tiny, dim screen. But I do respect its AWESOME under the hood functionality. it's the smartphone I'd go into battle with. But the N95 8GB is the one I use day to day because it's kinder on my ageing eyes and fingers 8-)
Just waiting now for the 50c Chinese ebay copies =)
Pink floyd is a great band 😉
I made a plastic version of this, from a flexible plate that came with a Marks and Spencer T-shirt. It's much more durable than cardboard, and it looks almost professional 😉
