Newbie - N79 problems

Hi all!

I'm new to mobile forums so sorry for the silly questions if they have been answered elsewhere (and yes I have tried the search function)

I recently got the Nokia N79 (first Nokia and first Symbian mobile) and have encounter the following problems:

1) Error message "New Drive Unavailable"
This occurs when I enter the N-Gage section, and sometimes when I try to do a few other things (cant remember what right now sorry)

2) The Nokia Maps GPS sucks! Doesnt connect even with Wifi?
Cant find my location ever and cant use it at all?
- Is there a better GPS alternative that doesnt need to connect to the internet?

3) Laggy as hell compared to my old phone (SE K800i), is this normal?

1) Go to menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Remote drives and delete/remove any remote drives that are not really working/connected to anything. Did it help?

2) Maps works without an Internet connection, if you use MapLoader on a PC to download the maps to your phone. Without A-GPS and a GPRS packet data (Internet) connection, picking up the position may take a good while. Enabling A-GPS usually makes it quite fast.

There is just the one drive, named "New Drive"
Is it supposed to have a url under "Address" and have something under "Username" and "Password"?
Deleted it anyway will see what happens haha

I got maploader on my phone, but where do I find the maps from?
Got the phone from Malaysia, and I'm still here but will be going back home to New Zealand in a couple of weeks

Thanks for your help

EDIT: yes, lag is normal on early firmware

Ahhh right and that is just done through normal PC Suite right?

LOL yeah I know about the GPS working only outside, figured out that even if the clouds are out, it takes ages to connect!

Not liking the lag, hoping the future firmwares sort it out

Thanks for your help 😊
