The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is now supported by the Nokia Software Update service. The currently available firmware is v11.0.008, which will not be new for most users. However, if you purchased your 5800 in the first half of December you may be running v10.x firmware. The update is relatively minor, but does fix a number of annoying bugs.

Just out of interest, why is this update available on the updater but not OTA?
Product code 0575408 still says v10 is the latest. After plenty of searching around forums I still haven't found anyone else with this code, I'm starting to think it must be a 'branded' code (although there is no branding on the handset or firmware).

Demowayne, I think the update appears at different times in different territories. I'm in Finland (which is the Nordic language region) and it took a while for the update to become available here.
Did you buy the 5800 from another country, on ebay or elsewhere? I assume you must have done as the UK release hasn't happened yet.
No update found for my 5800 😞 I called service desk and they told me it was available for download, but the Updater does not see it... The phone was purchased in Russia and the product code is 0575028.
None available for my 5800 purchased in Spain. Product code 0575384. Spent about 5 hrs trying to change the product code to Euro1 but NSS and Phoenix dont work.. I wish someone could find software that would change the product code on the 5800...
checked the NSU today again,also the over the air update function....nothing....and the phone is not branded,got it online from an aussie online shop mid december,they got it from Hong Kong....and btw demowayne,my product code is 0575408 as well...
does not bother me much this lack of update,the phone was and still is bug free ,works like a charm....i just don't understand why the update is not available...but until 3 days ago,the phone was not even supported in the NSU...so is a small step forward....maybe someday the update will arrive too,lol.
I contacted Nokia Customer Support here in the USA a few minutes ago. I too have a 5800 from Hong Kong, Product Code 0575408. They used the serial number to track an update on the firmware. I was told that current there is not a 11.0 update available for the APAC/HK region that the phone is supported from. There is a firmware that is currently being updated and may be available in the next several months. It looks like those of us with a 0575408 phone will just have to patiently wait it out. I have heard that changing the region code works but will also void the warranty if there are any future problems.
hi bought mine from chicago flagship store newest red model. well it came with firmware 10... and luckily i am running windows xp so i am not having compatibility issues like on my vista laptop with connecting and recognizing the cell...however it says that firmware 10 is the latest. so far i have called tech support which by serial number acknowledges it is ready for firmware however i think the confict may lie in that its a european model but authorized for us warranty because it is a special contract with nokia usa flagship stores...so at this point i guess i have no choice but to wait for the update or risk mailing off to alabama nokia care center so they can update to 11, assuming they can do that at all. of course thats what tech support said to do but maybe i should be patient. any suggestions?
