Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anybody could advise me on how to upload films to my N95 8GB, ideally im looking to rip a DVD and store it on my phone. (Ghostbusters incase you were wondering 😊 )

I am a total novice so please provide as much detail as poss.

I assume this is fully possible as the phone came with Spiderman pre-loaded which was DVD quality video. This is the quality i was looking for if poss!

Thanks

theres also Super C, (see in the recommended apps sticky on this forum) thats highly recommended by many... I think someone posted a howto recently.. or some screenshot for it so have a quick search see what comes up.

If I have a music album I can use nokia music manager to rip them onto my n95 8gb.

If I want a DVD that I have purchaed to bbe placed on my phone how do I go about it?

Hi
There are many different softwares for converting and making movies that WILL play on your phone.
My fav is Smartmovie converter from Lonely Cat Games, its a 2 piece software, one for your PC the other for your phone (for creating DivX compliant movies).
A DVD Rip compressed with Smartmovie usually creates a DivX file at around 300MB, think how many movies you could put on your N95 8GB!
Hope this helps

cant Super convert the same?

im just playing around with AnyDVD and DVDshrink then I am going to try and encode using super and transfer to my n95 8gb that way.

ive used anydvd to remove protection from a disc i own. Then used dvdshrink to look at the disc. I picked the main video out as i would have no idea how to use all the files correctly to send it to my phone. Any advice on this appreciated. Anyway ive got the main file and its 4.1 gb! Now im using super to convert to mp4 using settings for n95 8gb for tv playback and i think at rate it is going it is going to be a huge file. What file size should i expect for my phone ? Spiderman 3 was about 800mb and the quality was amazing both on phone and the tv.

usually i ripp'd any dvd file with Dr DivX or DVD Ripper from Xilisoft..

then i convert it into high quality mp4 with the nokia video manager.

an episode of pbreak in avi is about 375 mb..

with nokia video manager the size is around 250 mb
