My N96 will not play any videos not even the ones I have taken with it or came pre-installed on the handset. Their seems to be something wrong with RealPlayer.
Stupid software updater doesn't even allow you to re-install the firmware these days.

same problem on my n79
no fix yet...
Reformat the device and memory card (mass storage). After that it'll probably work. Save your data before you reformat, or it'll be lost.

can you format the device using pc suite, or do we need other software...
You reformat the device using the device itself (no new/additional software needed).
Even a full reset to factory settings might be enough. Do that by "dialing" *#7370# on the standby screen (as if you'd call a number). You will be asked for the lock/security code, which by default is 12345.
You can format the memory card and mass memory using the File manager application on the phone.
and what will be reset? everything on the phone? settings?
It'll clear the phone from all data you've entered/stored in phone memory since you first took the phone out of the sales box (settings, contacts, messages, applications you've installed, etc.).
Yes, can confirm this works on N79, but it means you have to re-install all the apps/games you had on your memory card too.
