I'm on Orange (UK), and my 7650 takes as long to connect to GPRS as a WAP call. THE GPRS signal is there, but it's very slow to connect.
Does anyone know if this is this a network, firmware (3.16) or reception problem?
Cheers

You will probably find that this is a feature, to establish the initial connection to your service provider, in this case Orange, there will always be a short delay.
If you conneted to GPRS when your phone started and then left the connection open, you could then connect to other services with no time delay.
Even though there is no dialup, there is still a "handshake" to establish a connection.
Bob 😊
I'm suppose that whould be OK
I'm just paranoid I'd leave a browser open and exceed bandwidth !
I saw a friend use an erricson and it 'handshook' very quickly, so there might be a problem with my 7650 - we'll see.
Thanks
