Chrys

Why are they on your C drive? Why not wallop 'em all onto the memory card?

In my previous message I ask for what reason the messager needs 16 files and 38 folders for 5 messages. Also I try to change the default storage without any luck.
All times return to C (Communicator) if I try to make default the D (Memory Card).
Also if I try to move that, with MOVE command has a message Server is Busy. And only with reboot I have again Messager.
Any way for TANKERx if you like my Desktop I send it to you. In my pic show it all.

Regards
Chrys

This rather sounds as if something has gone awry. I think this suggests there is a more basic problem. Backing up, reformatting and re-installing might be a good idea.

The messaging program seems to use folders to store message components, folder info, and things like POP3 mail info.

At the base is an index file and it rather looks as it uses the mail folder structure as an indexed data tree. The index file probably gives an entry point into structure and the files and other bits help in navigation.

The base folder with an F at the end contain a UIDLS file that probably contains internet mail information. The base folders with a S at the end seem to represent storage folders.

It looks as if each message is placed in a folder in the storage folders when read, and any components of the message (attachments, signatures etc ) are placed in sub-folders of the message folders.

There are some additional files that are also stored but I am uncertain of their purpose. Sub indexes or message status info maybe...

The structure seems reasoanly effecient in the end.

I have currently about 2Mb of mail on a 64Mb MMC (500+ messages) . Which is pretty reasonable when you work it out.

Take this desktop.zip. Contains *.mbm *.rsc and *.jpg http//users.otenet.gr/~yaesu/pic9210/temp/desktop.zip

Also to Anonymus friend. After an uninstall and install the mailer on drive D On my last check i have 6 mail and messages on, and count 33 files and 43 folders ???? The MOST of that it's (crazy) EMPTY !!!! I think if any new incoming mail or message stored, makes some new folder and don't delete it the time to delete this mail or message. Also you don't think at any way may be the guys on Symbian found some other way to store this messages? HEY LISTENING from Symbian Here ? I don't believe that.

Dear Fanta
First unzip the desktop.zip and then go to this site http//loonyworld.homepage.dk/9200/install.html There has everything you want to know i think.

Also the *.mbm file has 4 pictures in *.bmp format inside for right panel. For that reason have that size.
