Quake II and the N95-1

I can't get Quake II running on my n95-1.

Can get the menu up, but as soon as i try to get a game it gives up.

The authors site (http://koti.mbnet.fi/hinkka/ ) claims that Q2 will run on the n95, but I'm wondering if anybody has really managed it. And if so, what - if anything - they had to do...

I'm assuming that RAM is the problem...

Ta,

Yes.. your assumption is correct.

You need a minimum of 24 MB free.. and even then, it takes anything up to 5 minutes or more to load up (dont ask me why.. but be patient.. and you will be rewarded o_O)

Cheers. I'll have to investigate where my memory's gone then.

Currently it almost always bombs out trying to load the level...

Once it's up, is it playable? I've found Quake to be fantastically playable (read: completed it) on the N95 (entertaining without a mouse!), but GLQuake (for example) is unplayably twitchy...

Obviously it's hard to get past the awesomeness of playing something that you once needed a high end PC for on your mobile bleedin phone... 😃
