Hi Please check out this link

I've contacted Plantronics and they say the M1500 Bluetooth Headset is compatible with a Nokia 7650 and that it can be used outside of the US
The UK retailers are at
262 Regents Park Road
Finchley
London N3 3HN
Tel +44 1793 842 200
Can someone in London possible check out the compatibility?
I live in South Africa and have to order via Internet. I need to be sure that it works with Nokia 7650
Thanks
I don't want to burst your bubble Doc, but I was in contact with Plantronics in the UK, and they told me that they could not guarantee compatability due to the high power of our GSM networks in the UK. I detailed my conversation in a previous post early last week.
I also could only find UK retailers that sell the M1000 not the M1500 with the adapter.
I do have my suspitions that the adapter and M1000 would work with the 7650, but cannot get access to one to test (I am working away from home so cannot get to London).
If anyone else can help Doc out then I would be interested also, the only problem I would have then is the cost of 2 Bluetooth audio devices (one adapter and one headset) pricey!!!
😞
Thanks Bob
Did you try the contact above given to me by Plantronics USA
They also gave this email address which I'm going to try

I just got this reply from Plantronics US about using it outside of US

Yes, the M1500-N1 is compatible with the Nokia 7650.
As the headset is simply an extension of your cell phone handset, it does not make a difference what "Network" is behind your cell phone carrier.
Can you use any bluetooth headset with that adaptor or just the plantronics one?
maybe this litle beauty is coming to europe

I should think that you could use the adaptor with any Bluetooth 1.1 headset, but I'm not syre if they sell the adaptor seperately?
Wolfman, Why would there be 4 different jacks if it's a Bluetooth set?
it is not a bluetooth set, is is a cordless set (using Logitech's own wireless communication protocol), it consists of a transmitter/receiver that you connect to your phone (with the headphone jack) and a wireless headphone set.
Oops, Ok Wolfman
Does it require line of sight and what range are we talking about?
Logitech talks about a range of 10 feet, it's radio so no line of side needed.
Thanks, so it's the same concept as the Plantronics 1500 headset(transmitter/receiver) , Except that it's cheaper, but shorter range.
Ok here's the final word on the plantronics m1500 n1 Bluetooth headset.
It works with the Nokia 7650.
But, It can't be sold outside US or Canada at present. There is no EC approval at present.
😞 😞 😞 :agrue:
Is that can be sold from a place in the UK or can't be bought by someone in the UK from a supplier in the USA? In other words can I get it if I buy it from an american website?
None of the companies will ship to an address outside the US. No Company branches outside North America stock this product.
Your only option is to Get someone in US to buy it and mail it to you.
But it would be illegal to use it.
Same goes for this product that also works with the Nokia 7650

Thanks for your help guys, I guess we will just have to wait for a licenced product that works or a BT phone.

Excuse my ignorance, but if bluetooth isn't illegal in this country, why would this product be?
about this Logitech device... anybody know about pricing (I cannot load the price & comparison chart for some reason)
btw, there's a photo of a guy with this thing in his ear on their website - is that a cable snaking down from his ear towards his phone? 😉

I find it strange too
Who should we blame?
Bush, Nokia 😊
Personally, I think the companies manufacturing these products are missing a great oppertunity to sell quite a few of them
Anyway, I'm going to US in April. I will buy one and try it.
