Hi all,
I have an N95 8Gb, that is refusing to connect via USB to either my mac or PC. It comes up with the box to select the mode, but whatever mode I select (on either computer) does nothing, there is no device on my Mac, windows device manager shows nothing, I hve tried deleting and reinstalling, Pc suite, cable drivers on my PC, however the thing that worries me is that the little USB logo that used to appear in the top - right hand side of the screen (where bluetooth logo is) doesn't come up at all - which leads me to think its a software fault on the handset.
I upgraded to V30 in November time (i think) and havn't connected it since.
I used NSS to unlock the phone when I bought it 8 months ago, ad have upgraded the software a couple of times since then, so I'm unsure what to do!
Any advice would be much appreciated!
PS - If I do a hard re-set (can someone remind me how!)- will I lose info stored in Mass Memory (this is where I store everything but phonebook (sync'd with Ovi anyway) and my Messages (nothing I can't live without!) However its just the pics / videos I don't want to lose!

since you've tried on pc and mac, we can rule out that end.
Have you tried a different cable? How about bluetooth?

I only have one cable, which i think is my girlfrend's blackberry cable, it did cross my mind it could be the cable, but i'm sure i used the same one last time i updated (im not 100% though). Ive looked all over the flat for my nokia one, but to no avail!
bluetooth works fine, but I want to update my firmware, so need to use the cable unfortunately!

My monies on the cable causing the problem. Check your girlfriend... they walk off with all sorts of your kit. She may well have it! 😊
it may seem obvious, but check your socket for fluff too...
isn't 'any' miniusb cable gonna work?? i thought so....🙄
edit: just remembered, actually i used a generic miniusb cable in my friends house on his n95 8gb.
