Can anyone confirm if, when capturing video, the flash light stays on throughout recording as it does on the Nokia N73?

Also, when taking a still image with the flash to the off position does the flash still illuminate when focussing on the subject?

Thanks

Yes the light comes on for autofocus when in no flash mode and yes the light stays on during video unless you turn it off with the on screen buttton

Thanks...so just to clarify, you can record video without the flash light being illuminated? (A vast improvement on the N73!)

Yes

There is a light icon on the screen, you can have light on or off

(Although when it is off it still shows a dim orange light as an indication that the camera is recording, a bit like the old camcorder tell tale light)

well on mine, the light switches on for one sec only before switches off on video recording.

I have the same problem with phonetorch and a hard reset did not change it

Maybe a bug in the latest soft

i am very much upset regarding the picture quality of Nokia 5800. As its nokia's first touch screen phone, what i was expecting that Nokia 5800 must have 5 or higher MP camera... but 3.2 MP is an old thing...my one year older nokia 6500 is having 3.2 MP features....
