Help please! New N96 user with firmware issues!

Full of anticipation I bought my N96, brand new from Carphone Warehouse here in the UK (it is not network-branded), last weekend. Although this is obviously a clever piece of kit, it seems to have quite a few bugs which, disappointingly, affect the features I find most important! I hope somebody can reassure me that I have not made a mistake opting for the N96 and that it will all come good in the end....

My phone is an N96-1 with software version 11.018 with a version date of 13/09/08. It then says �Custom version: 11.018.249.2� and �Custom version date: 03/10/08� and �Type: RM-247�.

The problems I have are:

1) The snooze does not work on the alarm clock
2) The camera focus is quite poor (my 3MP work camera produces a crisper picture)
3) The call log keeps erasing from time to time (I have the call log set to 30 days)
4) When I go to set a new �To Do� note, I quite often get an error message similar to: �One or more alarms missed due to time change�

I know there is a new release (version 12.xxx) but when I try to download it, either over the air or by cable link to my PC, I just get a message saying that there is no firmware update available for my phone.

My questions are:

Are these issues likely to be resolved by a firmware update?

When will I be able to update my phone�s firmware?

Sorry for the long post, but I am quite disappointed/frustrated and would like to sort these things out ASAP. Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help and make me feel better about my purchase!

i have none of them problems in v12 so i guess the answer is yes they will be resolved when u get to update.
v12 firmware vastly improved the performance of n96
there's still things needing to be improved but they will come as nokia are probably number 1 in the world for carring on with support for there devices after ppl have purchased them.

V12 is not available as yet for the 0573802 product code, only thing you can do is either wait until release or change product code (risking warranty Void!) to a euro 1 spec, then upgrade

The Call Log erases itself whenever you turn off the phone/take out the battery - or at least it does on my N96 and N82.

after update to latest version everything was perfect besides all caller pictures are gone,
when i tried resync from outlook it did not work.
A picture from mobile inserted is moved to outlook but the way back to mobile is not working anymore.

Reinstalled Nokia Software, used nokia cleaner, no difference.

Is this general problem or do i really have to use

Or can i try deleting a directory or file on nokia mobile too?

Reinstall all my applications will be a horror for me and nearly whole day to use 😞😡
