Everyone is looking for the next thing in technology. Many companies and smartphone prototypes are made to test out radical ideas to see if they work. Power users are hoping that the next phone will do the 27 things they need it to do; regular users want it to make calls; and half of us wonder why the IrDA port is still there. If I recall right the Psion 7 and netbook were 700+ in the 90s? The ASUS EEE and the otehrs that have followed are aaround 200, so there's a clue as to why they work this time round. Plus the newer ones have all the connectivity you could want. As usual though, Psion were 10 years ahead.

Having something completely voice controlled would surely be better-suited to something like an in-car computer, rather than an in-hand phone?
Can't see the point of operating a mobile phone remotely, when by definition it's never going to be remote from you.
and will (apparently) be in the stores by Christmas.
That's what Tomorrow's World used to say, and it never ever was... 😉

The words "Titanic" and "unsinkable" spring to mind.
"All about nothing" - isn't it the topic?
Oh I loved the 3600! What an amazing design. That was back in the days when bravery was a thing to boast about.
