Google's desktop web site has been offering the text of public domain and other licensed books for a while, but they've just launched a mobile version as well, books.google.com/m . Ostensibly formatted for Android devices and the iPhone, it works after a fashion on S60 devices too, with their Webkit-based browsers. Some screenshots below to show how it works...

That link gives me just blank screen with both N82 and E61i. Shame, this looked like a useful mobile service 😞

Same here with an E71. Is there any chance Steve that you could give us the full mobile address to one of the ebooks? Maybe by opening that, we could navigate back or something.
This works wonderfully for the Nokia N800 (and I'd guess the other NITs). Google uses OCR and if you tap the screen it calls up the original scan as an image.
Blank screen also on my N85.
Working fine on the E90. Thanks Steve.

On my Nokia N82 or N95 this site http://books.google.com/m
works in Opera Mini or Skyfire Browser but strangely not
with the S60 builtin browser.
However I think I still prefer
http://www.memoware.com/ and
http://www.pdabookstore.com/
which have free membership and have been building their library of free and premium ebooks for over 8 years.
Blank screen on my N95's browser.
Works in a fashion in Opera Mini on my Nokia E61i.
Is there a reason you don't link google urls? Bit ironic what with the article on how to subscribe to a podcast without having to type the url.
