Physical screen size and number of pixels has no direct relationship.

There are phones with the same display pixel resolution, but different physical screen sizes.

E.g., all these devices have the same 240x320 pixel (QVGA) resolution display, but different physical display dimensions (i.e., the pixel size is different):
- 5320: 2" display
- 6210: 2.4" display
- N95: 2.6" display
- N96: 2.8" display

In the case of the E71 vs. the N90, the E71 has a QVGA landscape (320x240) pixel screen at 2.36" and the N90 had a 352x416 pixel screen at 2.1".

So, in effect, the N90 had much, much smaller pixels.

For regular phone use that virtually no difference, but, e.g., photos would appear much sharper because of the smaller pixels.

And of course, the display or pixel size of the display has no impact on, e.g., what kind of photos or videos the phone takes. That is determined by the camera sensor, camera lens and camera software.

In any case, Nokia used the 352x416 resolution display only in a handful of models a few years ago, and then switched over to the more standard QVGA.
