Application Icons overwritten?

Was installing a few new apps on my silver N95. Went to start an application up, and the menu has been overwritten! I hit the menu button->applications and the displayed icons are the menu icons. If I select one, it opens an application e.g. Log that would be displayed - so the applications are still there, and still working, but the icons are overwritten (the menu title is no longer applications, but Menu).

Tried to restore settings from before my FW upgrade and no change

Tried to reinstall an application, no error, but no icon!

FW Version is 31.0.017

Tried to restore Factory Settings but I don't know the Lock Code it's promting me for 😞

The default lock code is.... 12345

It might just be worth trying:- Menu > Options > Icon animation and select either On or Off to see if that helps.

yeah tried to switch icon animation - no luck. Will try the factory setting code - will I need to reinstall all the apps again after?

Took the plunge, reset to factory settings, Applications menu is still broken. Must be something on the filesystem that contains the menu icons and has been overwritten 😞
