I have n95-8gb US, bought it about half a year ago. Love the phone but the head phone it came with it is total crap...made in shitty china. One of the earphone went out, and the male side of the jack just wasn't glued to the wires, so it was loose.....so I sent it out for replacement.
Sent item: December 10th...
Item Delivered to replacement factory: December 15th
Cost: $8 priority mail.
Today is what? February 13th... no I won't be that critical of them.
Last Saturday I received, so happy after calling them 4+ times. So I go to my room, its like waiting for the christmass morning to come so I can open the gifts. (Just know I bought me a new Scion TC, just cause I felt like it and I wasn't even excited). Anyhow, I open the package and I am just shocked. Its not even for the phone and although they sent something, but it wasn't the full two piece assembly. And have absolutely no use for it.
I call them, then again called monday and spoke to a supervisor. And I am still waiting.
Anyhow, I plant to return the whole Nokia n95 and I want my fucking money back..that is $600 and some change+ 100 FOR INSURANCE..
So Nokia, never again.....my dead grandmother can do product replacement better.....
IT IS MY FIRST NOKIA PRODUCT.....NEVER AGAIN. At least with sony, you can just send their headset without a question(with or without warranties), they will send you a replacement(walkmans).
Is nokia this bad with their customers?
I'd like to know who you bought its from? Direct from Nokia (if thats possible) or through some phone supplier.
I do think Nokia couldn't care less about the North American market.. I mean why bother the carriers act like fiefdoms with locked contracts, specific locked handsets, different frequencies and an immature but developing client base who have no sense of carrier "freedom".
No Nokia is much better off selling to the "World" (without Japan .. another story)
Although its disappointing that your POS headset (lets face it the bit of plastic they throw in with even these top-end handsets is crap) .. surely you could have spent the $8 on a replacement at your local electronics store or heck even Walmart.. they stuff probably come from the same place.

You assume that there can be a decent pair of headset for 20 to 30 bucks? What are you a cheap mother fucker? A decent pair doesn't cost less than 50, much less even hundred. Its about product quality. And for your information, I did by the damn headset for not 20 to 30 bucks but $78 the day I sent out. So its not about the money.
I want a good quality headset so I can use it as for talking and for listening using the built in microphone on the headset and there are no after markets as far as I know.
And for your information, suck my balls cheap faggit.

But you are not clear what you are on about. You bought a headset, or are on about the supplied ones? If so what did you pay the $78 for?
I haven't had any phone (or any other product for that matter) that comes with headphones worth keeping.
For what it's worth, I have a pair of 'decent' headphones that cost me just under �20.

the original cheap (lets be honest) earphones? You really wanted a real headset.
As you rightly point out you need to spend money to get some decent sounds. I don't think any phone manufacturer is going to include a "headset" its just not practical.
At least with Nokia they have standard 3.5mm jacks on the N95 etc that you can connect to pretty much anything you like. Sony, Sennheiser etc etc
