I have an N85 (on Vodafone) and cant dial out or get incoming calls (connection errors) BUT only when i am at home.
As soon as I go somewhere else it works fine.
The SIM card works fine at home in a different phone, so i dont think its that, but the phone works fine when not at home
This started about a week ago and is very frustraing. I updated the fw to 11.047 several months ago.
If i try to connect via 3G it says no network connection, but shows full bars and the Vodafone logo.
I've tried re-installing the fw, but makes no difference.
PLEASE HELP!!!

try changing ur network to GSM or if on GSM, Dual mode?
This also happens to me, on v11 of the firmware but it also happened when on v10. This is with Orange and the recepton does seem very poor sometimes and excellent at others.
Very bizarre. I've had the "Connection Error" even in areas of full signal strength. Not sure why.
Thanks - if i switch from Dual Mode to GSM it seems to work fine :con?
What difference does this make?
Does that mean there are certain features I cant use - will it still work abroad?
Or do i need to keep switching between the modes everytime i get home!
Do you think this means there is a fault with either the phone or the local transmitter?
When you're in GSM mode you wont be able to access any 3G functions, so if you use your phone to go online it will be slower. However, you will see your battery last longer as it doesn't need to keep negotiating between GSM and UMTS towers.
