Hi there,
Any one of the current owners of the XM5800 has ever tried to use it to show PPT presentations on a projector? I'm assuming that, due to the higher screen resolution (compared with the previous devices), using the video-out to PPT presentations should be "good enough" for business presentations? Any thoughs or, even better, any tests done with results?
Thanks for any help on this?
Clayton
This is AMAZING! The most influent users forum, with the best of the best Symbian users... And I had NOT A SINGLE VOLUNTEER to test a Powerpoint presentation trought he video-out?!? :con?
Is it because it's too new? Or maybe the people is too busy? Or is it not of any interest for any other user? - So, I'm a very strange one... 😡
Why don't you try it yourself...? What makes you think people with a budget touchscreen phone are going to have a projector to try it out on?

???
First, I don't try just because I don't live in one of the countries that currently have XM5800 available.
What I'm trying to do is to leverage the experience that other people already owning this device have developed. Is this wrong?
Second: you don't need to own a projector to try this... Many people have available projectors on meeting rooms at office, or even at schools. Or not?
While XM5800 might be really a "budget touchscreen phone", I think there are some enthusiasts that decided to buy it to try the first Nokia interaction on touch - and the price was not a decision factor. I might be wrong...
Anyway, do you own one of these? If so, have you tried the video-out with your TV? (do you have a TV, right? 😎 I think that TV sets are really mainstream technology all around the world!
Regards!

I have tried to set my 5800XM to my TV. It looks okay, but the resolusion is not that good (it might have something to do with the TV I was testing it on (full HD 40"😉)
Regarding the output RES..kind of a bit lower than average of most the projector default but none of today's mobile can overcome the XM. 640x480 can be viewed on TV with comfort...Not to forget that, the RES of computer screen is kind of...HD by itself compare to 800x600 of the projector.
I recommend to use XM only when carrying LAPTOP is impossible..
