Continuing our series for beginners, we've done a guide to the Nokia 5800's S60 5th Edition interface, and to complement it there's also a brief look at the 5800's various methods of text entry including on-screen keyboards, keypads and handwriting recognition. You can find a complete listing of all the articles in this series on the 5800 tutorial index page.

Hopefully these tutorials will be especially helpful to those who are totally new to Symbian S60, there seem to be a lot more people interested in the platform thanks to the 5800.
Any chance of seeing a tutorial on setting album cover art in the music player? I would be particularly interested in the answers to these two questions:
1) what is the optimal size for the 5800? I don't want to waste more storage space than needed, but on the other hand I'd like the pictures to be as big as possible.
2) is there a way to add cover art without having it appear in gallery?
The above questions are mainly for the 5800, but I'd be interested in the answers for QVGA 3rd ed. too.
Yeah, there's a general music player tutorial on the way. It's a big topic though, that's why we are taking a while to do it.
I think you can add cover art to the phone if you rip CDs through the Nokia Music application for Windows PCs. The NM app automatically downloads cover art from a central database. However, I'm not 100% sure about that right now, I'll try to cover it in the tutorial.
