Allright folks, 'nuff complainin allready.
Be constructive instead, post your wishlists here.
I'll start...

1. Firmware fix so that opening the flip will answer the phonecall.
2. Compatibility with DUOs over 128 mb in size
3. Profiling support, this is the ultimate device for designing advanced call receiving and call rejecting profiles.
4. Wider range of accerssories.
5. Keyboard, be it BT or IR.
6. The virtual keyboard getting letters on the "keys".

What's your wishlist?

T9, T9, T9!

YES/NO button on the flip would be nice, much easier when you're simply making phone calls with flip closed.

I would definitely like a flash for the camera, to expand the 'wider range of assessories'-point

I would like a function so you can lock the keys (or screen) without the virtual flip on, so you can enjoy full screen wallpapers without the annoying virtual flip.

Furthermore an icon in the bottom of the screen wich you can tap and get a running task list, and by clicking a task you will go to the app, so you won't have to go to the apps screen again.

Oh, and the up and down arrow in the apps screen are a little higher than the lowest app, so when you miss-tap the down arrow, the calculator starts... A bit annoying...

And UIQ 2.1 ofcourse, so we can change the colors and the background images, and have new icons!

Oh, and my Virtual Flip has letters on it's keys (Firmware R1D)

Fredfox:

PowerPoint viewing works fine with mine, though it would be nicer to have full screen and rotate options... And the viewer sometimes has trouble with font size

Ooohh... I alerady ranted a little about this today in a different thread... but I'll see if I can get back "in the zone" ...

... ahem ...

1: MS office compatible editors... palm has already shown it can offer a better mobile word and excel experience than PocketPC and here the P800 is sadly lacking... even if the apps were only to PocketPC standard it would be a start...

2: Fax ... I like being able to recieve any form of communication while on the road so fax is pretty essential.

3: larger memory cards and sooner... it's quite cool to hear your phone blaring out mp3's ... just wish I could hold more of them...

4: get prodding the 3rd party app developers... the range of apps available through www.midlet.org and www.midletcentral.com is nice but j2me apps look sucky compared to a wonderful colourful C++ app... well done to the makers of handysafe for a cool looking app!

5: um... e-mail client... "leave a copy of the messages on the server" ... it may be listed as number 5 but THIS IS IMPORTANT!

I'm gonna shut up now before people get the impression I don't like this phone... I do... I'm madly, passionately and truely in love with it... so much so it's worrying my girlfriend! 😉

Some improvements to the PDA side such as:

- Repeats available on Appointments (not just reminders)
- Category colours to show in day view (i.e. coloured text)
- Another way of showing Start/End time in day screen. If the appointment is more than a few words long the times are not shown
- Untimed items?
- And of course synchonisation of categories and repeats with Outlook for all apps!

But I do really love my P800. It is easier having PDA and phone in one device.

I want a Macromedia FLASH Player.

That's all I neeeed!

Every plattform has it: Nokia Communicator, Nokia Series 60 (7650...will be out soon), Pocket PC, PALM, iMode Phones (NTT DoCoMo) and so on.

THE P800 NEEDS A FLASH PLAYER!!

BTW There is a survey from Symbian to let them know what software we want here:

Thanks Zeti, another box ticked in "The Reasons To Buy One" list 😊

More Organiser wishes :

1) Support for anniversaries (different from all day events)
2) The ability to postpone reminders for a specific amount of time as in Outlook.

Others :

3) The ability to start the MP3 player in flip closed mode.
4) The ability to sort contacts by groups rather than just name/company. At the moment, with flip closed I have to scroll through all my contacts using the jog dial to select a name. I would prefer to be able to have personal contacts at the top ...
5) Office editors and a decent PDF viewer. The default PDF viewer is terrible.

Great phone though ...

The things Im after are:

A Full screen Video Player that supports a wider range of formats
A decent audio program such as Winamp
MP3s to be used as ring tones (does anyone know why they cant be used?)
An improved flip where they keypad is indented rather than curving
T9 and Message Reports (its a bit of a joke that the phone doesnt have these built in)
Flash (possibly it will become a plug-in for Opera)
A Basic office product which links in with other software such as SMS/MMS/EMS and Email.

Why is this not already there?? (Orange trying to move their old customers on to a worse deal ?? )

Software Upgrade or Patch required please !!

AS PER LAST MESSAGE

LINE 1/2 SWITCH THAT IS !!!

I would like most of what you guys want too, but here is something else I would REALLY like. I would like it if someone would make a keyboard that has the size of the entire screen (and the "screen-part" made of somekind of glass offcourse so that you can still see the screen) so that it would protect the screen and works as a case as well. Cause now I use it without a real case (because I HATE cases, especially the way it spoils the look of a phone) and the screen gets real dirty most of the times.

Hope anyone could make that...

a locker for the no flip mode
 full screen video
vibra on possibility for all types of messages
a clock always visible in no flip mode

bday

I want the Flash Player to work either as a OPERA Plug in or a Stand alone Player.

Come on Macromedia and Sony, give us the power, give us Macromedia FLASH player.

thanks

1) Image editor with option to convert using dithering (FS) to 12 bpp 4096 colors
2) Answer by opening flip
3) Fullscreen videoplayer and webbrowser
4) Decoder for MP4 produced by DiVX
5) MP3 ringtones
6) Mini Database (like the Data appl on PSION Series 5)
7) Assign applications to camera/internet buttons

Some of the wishes in this thread are already there, you just need to read the manual !!
-Powerpoint viewer (in the Viewers on the p800 media CD)
-Repeat appointment (works fine)
- Category color on the day view (works fine)

Zeti:
Maybe you'll get your wish about a flash for the camera.
