can't update z8 via software update

Hi everybody,

I just bought a z8 and trying to update the phone via windows vista.

It says it's reading the phone configurationdata and it doesn't go past that first step for hours.
Do i leave the phone connected and just wait.
I also have motorola drive installer and updated the drivers i think

Can anyone help me with this problem?

I have the same problem except after about 5 minutes it throws an exception error.

Did you ever figure out how to get it updated via the software? :con?
