Nokia Content copier problems

2 replies · 4,284 views · Started 02 March 2009

I regularly backed up my contacts (as well as other items) on my N80 using the content copier.

Given I used to upgrade the firmware, I'd regularly re-populate the conteacts from these backups so I know the details are stored OK.

Now when I attempted to use one of these backup files (I've subsequently tried several different ones) onto the N96 (the switch app wouldn't work), the content copier reports everything is successful, but the first line of everyone's address is missing. Everything else has appeared to be copied OK.

Can anyone help please, I'm hoping this is something really easy to fix otherwise I have lost many years worth of Addresses 😞

I can't help you get your content back but I can certainly advise you to never rely on Content Copier for anything. You're far better off syncronising with Outlook.

Hi,

1) Are you trying to restore N80's backup file into Nokia N 96? If yes, please do remember the warning or alert message while you try to restore "x" phone's backup into "y" phone, nokia content copier will say the backup was taken in the other phone and if you are trying to restore to different phone, chances of restoring all the data is not possible.

2) If contact files are to be transformed to new application, Try out a application(3rd party) Noki

or

3) Lookout for application called Contact transfer and do the transfer from X device to Y Device 😊
