Need help in solving communications error encountered while sending (only) out MMS with Globe Telecom in the Philippines.
MMS sends out up to 94% then flashes communication error stating "...error encountered in communicating with server". Had no trouble sending and receiving MMS prior to installing OPERA Browser downloaded last Feb. 14.
Existing GPRS account - www.globe.com.ph
Existing MMS account - mms.globe.com.ph
After OPERA failed to work with the existing account, I added a new Internet account GPRS account - internet.globe.com.ph
Opera did work with the new settings. However, I did notice that I get constant (looks more like 100%) communication error while trying to send out MMS. All others worked fine like receiving MMS, WAP browsing and internet browsing through the Opera.
After synchronization and backup, I finally tried the master reset. I reconfigure all GPRS accounts except the Opera GPRS account, but to no avail.
Currently trying out the firmware upgrade to R1D, but it seems the SE Support group are also failing to send out MMS.
Any ideas on what happened?
Thanks.
Wow that sounds like some kind of bug in the software. Well actally I have a few questions, I am here in Hong Kong and I am going to be studying at the University Of the Philippines next year. Is Globe the best provider and how much is a sending of an MMS there? I have a P800 that I bought here in Hong Kong.....but I have not seen that problem even though I have downloaded the Opera Browser...
For post paid accounts, Globe Telecom is the leader, since it was the pioneer in GSM in the Philippines. Smart Communications leads in prepaid accounts.
MMS cost 5 pesos per send. It is now around P54.35 vs USD$1.
Anyway, solved my MMS sending problem today. Sony Ericsson replaced a supposedly defective unit. It worked with some SIM cards but still did not work with mine. I surmised that the newer JAVA 2.1 encoded into the newer SIM cards could be the reason. So, I upgraded my SIM card. And true to my expectations, everything worked from MMS sending/receiving to Opera Browsing.
i got the same error on orange uk but only on 300k+ mms
I am on vodafone in the uk, I get the message failed to send mms message too big, this always happens at exactly 94%. Have always had opera installed so dont know whether this has any effect.
I have managed to send the confused mms template which is 27kb, but when I tried to send a pic I took which was 39kb I get this message. Surely 39kb is not too large for an mms
Just got off the phone with vodafone, maximum mms message size if 30kb, what a pile of crap
friend can you help me how to configure my opera browser on my p800? im also a globe user.i've already installed the opera browser but i cant open any page. it always display "cannot connect to remote server. can you give me the complete steps on how to configure it?
