Hi to all,
heres the thing. Im buying new phone. That phone will be in use for next year, year and half. Im seriously thinking bout 5800 bout dont know if it will hold that long.
Camera is not so important so thats the reason Im thinking to buy 5800. Other things it have are great. And that the future for Symbian, right?
What do you suggest? Maybe N82 or N79?
Regards
if you want a nice big touch phone - then go for the nokia 5800.....its functionalities are great and there are so many apps being created everyday that its crazy......while the N series is usualy reliable.........i think the 5800 will be able to last you one to two years...its a very sturdy phone despite it being a touch phone with a large screeen.....
I purchased mine this month beginning and love it. This is my first touch phone and am totally obsessed with it. Highly Recommended!
I have to agree with srikat - the phone is great!
and to think i was <this> close to getting an iphone! :evil:Phew!! Good old Nokia - They saved the day!
Buy one now - go on - you know you wanna!!
it's does what you need it to do, and it does it all quite well....as you'll read around here there are quite a few bugs....
i find it slow. slow at opening menus. slow at getting to places, names, contacts and the software can be annoying. i don't think it's nearly as good as an i-phone from what i've seen, but hey...
that said - i think it's a solid phone with good features, if they keep updating it it could become very good...
i have one and its nice but the i phone is better imho its just slicker at what ot does and has the bigger wow factor the reason i bought this is due to pirce 15 a month or 35 for same package no contest really
the iphone, i believe, has a 624mhz processor; the nokia 5800 has a 386mhz (or something like that) processor.
HOWEVER, the nokia tube has a dedicated music chip and a dedicated video chip. if you think its slow then please remove all the unnecessary apps you may have installed - try to have 30-40 mb s of free RAM.
hope that helped 😊

Installing apps has absolutely nothing to do with how much free RAM there is. I think what you mean is EXIT any unnessecary apps rather than leaving them running in the background.
yep.....thats what i meant - sorry!
No.
I'm holding out for the N97. 528 MHz quad-core processor with up to 48 GB memory.
N97 is a phone in a different price range, dont ?
5800 is comparable to N95. And still have some bugs, but is a good option, and have a nice screen.

Assumptions made by Comparing processor speed on phones with different operating systems is about as useful as......judging car speed by comparing the rated horsepower of a Lotus Elise and a GMC Suburban. Utterly pointess.
