As S-F points out, we've been waiting for flashlight functionality to return to our phones ever since the Nokia N93. The new E63 also has this and I've been wondering why Nokia doesn't implement a Torch application in most smartphone firmware. Anyway, Harald Meyer has come to the rescue with PhoneTorch for S60 5th Edition, in full Symbian Signed form. As the author points out, it might be best not to run the dual LEDs for long periods, but this is sure going to be a boon coming back from the pub/theatre late at night....

Is there a version for the E90? I used to have a torch on my N73 (which came in really useful when getting asset tags from the backs of office PC's), but haven't found a torch app that works on my current phone.
This application made my 5800 crash... 😞

Yup. it makes the red (video recording) light come on, not the white LED...
will this work with the N82's xenon flash?
I need this for my N85 too pls 😃

No, and it never will. You simply can't use a xenon flash as a torch - it would burn out in no time.
