Guys i'v been having problems with garmin for a while now, done the update and it still happens.
When using garmin for 10mins or so, the back light goes off and it stops working...then it comes on again and continues the journey. This never used to happen when garmin 1st came out but it started after updates (months back)
I have done the new update ( Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.30 )and disabled the service option. Any one had this problem and know how to fix it?

I get this myself, it also resets its self to defaut (asks for Language etc on the next start up) and the voice sometimes goes out of sync with whats actually happening.
Reason: Unknown, but a shot in the dark would be its something to do with how much memory its got to play with. I've noticed if you lower the map detail it does not happen as often.
Try deleting or moving everything you dont need on your phones memory. (clear your old sms too)
Garmin is a great bit of kit, I just wish they would bring out an update which would address these problems. I have had them since v3!

well did full format cos fone was giving other issues but i installed newer map and now its working. try using newer 2009 map and it should be fine, tested yesterday

I got mine from ebay although it appears to be a legitimate version, I had no problems installing it anyway.

Thats the map i'm using. You might have to fully delete all garmin files(except map) and update it and hopefully it will fix the problem.
I used it today i notice since update the map refresh is kinda slow. 1 frame per second or 2 . It used to be faster/smoother maybe its the map......
used mcguider today just for testing...very smooth moving app.
