Does anyone know of a remote kill solution for mail for exchange?
We have a few of the work force on MfE so if the worst happened and someone lost a phone on a night out, is there a way to remotely kill its data?

You need to have Exchange 2007 as the backend to do this efficiently. I believe there was some simple features from E2k3 that might do remote wipe.. but only have tried it on E2k7 however.
MS has implemented a whole heap of new Activesync features in E2k7. Nokia has partially implemented this into MfE 2.7 (luckily Remote wipe is a part of it along with full blocking of the moble phone itself). You should check out the documentation for Activesync here:
http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/evaluation/mobile/adminbenefits.mspx
Also, it would be wise to download the administrators manual from Nokia on MfE as well since it has the full list of what is supported and what isnt.
Lastly the limitation of this is that if someone DID find the phone, it will only do it if the phone is synchronised to the network (on demand or during the next sync). If there is no network or internet connectivity, then your data cannot be wiped remotely.
The only real way of securing a phone these days are:
1) Lock SIM for PIN
2) Lock code for phone itself (along with autolocking after periods of time)
3) Complex Mail passwords
4) Set sync schedules more often or to push only
5) encrypt SD card (on the new phones)
6) Do not store passwords or real personal items on the phone itself
This way, the phone cannot be picked up and used without authority
Upon the loss of the phone:
1) Use Exchange or Outlook web access to send a remote wipe and clear
2) Wait at least twice the period of time for syncs (to allow for it to sync - eg. if mail is syncing every 30 minutes, then allow up to an hour to sync). Once synced, a record will appear on Exchange to say this is wiped
3) Contact Phone provider to block both the SIM card and the IMEI of the phone itself
If you ever find the phone once again, the above steps are reversible.. 😊
yes, I understand the only real way is to go thru the lock and pin codes... or even better... just don't lose it but as you know... people do 😉
Thanks a lot for the info tho... and good to know its actually reversible... because last week one went missing only to be 'found' in the breakout room on the sofa.
