Hello to all you Symbian Oracles!
I'm looking for a program that will convert Ordnance Survey Grid References to GPS Coordinates on my N95 8gb. There are web pages that do it, but you can't always get a signal in the middle of nowhere! It would therefore be extremely handy so I can put the results into the Navigation part of the GPS on the phone.
Please help, I'd be lost without you!
(Sorry... couldn't help myself!)
Cheers!
Try UTM data from http://utmdata.blogspot.com . Not sure it does exactly what you want - it shows your current GPS position in terms of OS map refs. Works with French maps too.
Ian.
Cheers Ian, will give it a try
This is great little program. It's not the most user friendly, but it gets the job done. Once you've entered the OS Grid Reference, the position can be saved as a Landmark and then retrieved to be shown on the map. Very useful for National Trust members, whose handbook gives grid references for all their properties but often very scant address details.
If you've got the GPS enabled it will show you your current latitude/longitude, OS Grid Reference and height above sea level. I'm running it on a Nokia N86 8MP with ovi maps 3.
Thanks for the link, Ian.
