Just a quickie, since this has been reported in many other places, but for the sake of completeness, there's a new firmware for the North AMerican version of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic - firmware v20.2.014 is now available, with many improvements, including (allegedly) a resolution to the 3G reception problems seen in some US cities when the device was launched.

Now this is a first, a US model getting an update before the UK model!
The wastes of space at Nokia UK still haven't released v20 yet for the generic UK red model! (0575581)
I just picked up a 5800-NAM and confirm that it generally stays on AT&T 3G and has the new 20.2 build.
Can't see any noticeable improvements from my Singapore Euro 3G 5800... but it is pretty stable.
Seems battery life is pretty weak, but I'm still investigating that.

Nokia really amaze me. While I'm happy for all the 5800 users out there, nokia seen to have forgotten about all my N85 which had 1 firmware update almost 3 months ago. How long do they expect us to live with all these bugs? Come on Nokia...stop focussing on only one device
It's just a number....it's the identical update that most users have had for quite sometime.
Nokia seems to have forgotten the masses who use N95 8gb in the US, more then the 5800 that is just released. Give us an update for N95 4 NAM. It's long overdue.😡
its 3 months ago and you are complaining 😊
come to the E90 world....

Just change the product code and get your V20, it's easy, harmless and if you are worried then you can just change the product code back after you have your new firmware installed.
I installed the update. There aren't oodles of improvements (though the new search app is very cool) and 3G STILL doesn't work (in Atlanta GA). I'm returning it.
The difference between the E90 and newer phones like the N85 is that the E90 had a lot of upgrades through its lifetime and so most, if not all, of its bugs have been ironed out. The N85 on the other hand has had only one update since its release and that seemed to cause more problems than it fixed. The 5800 was released a lot more recently than the N85 and yet the updates seem to be coming out on almost a weekly basis. My N85, while potentially a fantastic device, is so full of problems that its on the brink of retirement for me. Nokia has forgotten about it
