Hi,
Did You email him and got an answer?
Think it does not make sense to mail-bomb him with our questions  although surely some people will be highly interested in this software. At handango there is nearly no information as well as at the homepage of emuzed.
It would be nice to know whether hipcam is restricted to 100 KB of video.
Dieter
also does it do full screen landscape?
hi!
Anybody saw that said down there?
REQUIREMENTS: 3650 .... 😮
i hope that is not ONLY for 3650
cya!
I'm hoping it isn't truely for the 3650 as I've just brought it!!!! I'd doubt it as the 3650 has video onboard anyway, if so then I'll chase a refund.
Haven't done much with it yet, still awaiting the unlock key as the software only allows a certain amount of uses before it shuts down.
Also the piece I record wont play back as it's asking for a 3GPP player?!
Any ideas on that one? In the spec it does seem to be selectable as to what format, 3G or MPEG4 but can't find the bit to change it over.
It's exciting but I haven't figured it out yet.
If the moderators see this then maybe we can arrange to have the trial one up here, I can send it to them first for evaluation. It does run out after 15 goes, at the moment you also can't play them either! 😉
Hope I aint blown 20 dollars.
Ian
It asks for a 3gpp player which IS included in the 3650 firmware. There is no such player for the 7650. So I guess it is using the existing 3gpp player of the 3650 to playback recorded videos. If you manage to change it to MP4 wou will be able to play them with but I am not sure about the sound. . I think you just blew 20 dollars :-?

oopps!
on the my-symbian site they list it for sale for both 3650 and 7650, is there not a media player we can use to watch the movies other than the 3650 one.
Yeah it is marketed for both as has been pointed out. Especially as the 3650 has video already, why does it need another?
I have emailed Emuzed to see what reply I get. Now I understand why the sis file is quite small (87kb) as there is no player included in the software, as the Hantro one is 200+.
Does anyone know of a commercial hantro package?
Am gonna keep looking into it, however am running out of tries 😞
There may be hope if this piece is read :
"Emuzed's HipCam software is available in several forms. The capture and record applications can be used separately or as a combined program. Standard video compression formats, MPEG-4 and H.263, are available. The audio compression method, called AMR, is the same used to encode voices for transmission across some digital cell networks. Different file formats are available, as well (such as .mp4 and .3gp) for use in different software environments."
Have wrong type of format maybe for my phone, need different sis file.
Wonder what I'll get from their support. Great bit of testing though.
I have just got an email saying I should receive a new application for the 7650 with an integrated player within the next 10 days. Now thats service, well done Emuzed. Looks like the video software catagory has just got a lot better. Can't wait to get it, will let you know the outcome.
Just as an aside, the trial Hantro V2.01 actually played the 3gp files I'd taken and in another forum a guys having trouble playing Hantro V3.3 recorded files on the PC, same file format again as Hipcam.
This is Great news coolice.
but why 10 days? Are they sending it by snail mail?
It is very good news, shame it wasn't mentioned to start with on the specification given out with the advert, but its ok as it will be made good. I think the delay is because they have to finish writing the software, including the player this time around.
On the screen after capture, under the right button is a replay option. Without the player it won't do anything, but if the Hantro software is installed or Wind VMMS it opens them up and uses their player to review the recorded clip. Can't yet do so on the PC, anyone got any ideas on a PC 3gpp player? There are other options to like quality, resolution and turning the audio on or off.
It appears you can on this version increase the size of video recordable from 100kb upwards using the capture size option, but I haven't increased it so far.
Will keep things posted, just got to be patient now.
Please post a review when you receive the program.
No problem will do a review and put something down. It's looking good so far so I'm hopeful.
coolice, I really wanna buy this software! Where do i go to purchase the english version?
Hi,
Your best place is from Handango. Click on the Hipcam link on the AAS home page, you need to scroll down a bit as new releases get put on top.
I would personally wait another week as the version for the 7650 with player software written into it is coming soon. I've brought it but with no other installed software you cannot view what you have recorded.
I was told I should get it in 10 days, this was last Thursday.
The minute I get it I will post some more info here so keep checking back.
Quite a few people are very interested in this software, as I am, especially as it is the first commercial(eg, to buy) one released.
i have used a trial version of hipcam. the fact that you can record movies over 100kb is great. you can actually set the size in the options so if you want to record a 1mb movie you can (as long as you have the memory space). you can also send the movie via mms but i think only if it's 100kb (i haven't tried to send a larger one yet.) you can adjust the quality but to be honest the quality of the recordings is ok but not as good as hantro v3.3. the worst thing about it is the fact that the video and audio of the movies you record are well out of sync unlike hantro 3.3 which syncs them perfectly. also there is no player included so you have to have a movie player such as hantro allready installed on your phone.
If they included a movie player it and they sorted out the audio/visual sync issue this would be the ideal video cam app for the 7650. hopefully this will be addressed in the next release.
you can also send the movie via mms but i think only if it's 100kb (i haven't tried to send a larger one yet.)
I think there is no size limit to the MMS size, on the phone.
But the network wont (shouldnt) allow you to send anything over 100kB with MMS.
As that is accepted max size of MMS message.
I have just sat down and played with Hipcam tonight, I still have not received the new app with integral player yet but there is still a few days to go.
First impressions are that, as has already been said, it isn't quite to the standard of Hantros video. I unfortunately have not been lucky so far in finding Hantro 3.3 to compare to (any help without getting me or you in trouble would be good. Sorry had to try) so I cannot comment. I only have 2.01 to go by and from reading threads here 3.3 is quite awesome.
The quality of recording in Hipcam is greatly effected by changing the quality and resolution, the higher these are set to the more jerky the recording becomes. So far the best setting I feel is with quality set to medium and resolution set to small, in this setup the video is quite good and easily watchable from the Pc using the philips platform 4 player.
However it still sometimes suffers and gets jecky, almost as if the software is struggling to keep up with the information being provided by the camera.
The memory window can indeed be increased to any reasonable limit and if anything with the size set to 100kb the program seemed to record an extra 7kb on top. I have not sent a clip by mms yet, must get the girlfriends phone with a player installed on it and try. Nor have I through email.
It is still only release one and Hantros equivalent has taken so far 3 versions to get to the stage it's at now, so hopefully more development work will see Hipcam up there with the best.
As soon as I get the new app I'll let you know some more, maybe the player provided will suit the playback better, time will tell.
