Not charging?

2 replies · 2,590 views · Started 27 February 2003

I have a problem with the battery not charging. I charged an empty battery for about 40 mins., then suddenly a 'no charging' sign pops up. I tried to reconnect the charger, but that sign still pops up. Why is it not 'battery full' anymore?

What is at fault here? Charger? Battery? Phone? Someone please help...

Sounds like a job for a Nokia Service Centre to me.

I have not come accross this before, and I don't remember seing a thread in the forum about it, but there would be no harm in searching to see.

Good luck getting it fixed.

Bob :-?

i had the same problem... on the nokiausa.com site it says that this message appears when your batery is overheat.

here is the text

Q: What do I do if the screen remains blank after I open the Communicator?
A: If the Communicator screens remain blank, make sure the battery is properly installed and charged. Make sure that the contacts on the battery and the desktop stand are clean. The battery charge may be too low for operation. Check the display and listen for the low battery warning tones. Charge the battery. If the NOT CHARGING message is displayed, the charging is suspended. Temperature extremes will affect the ability of your battery to charge: allow it to cool down or warm up first. Wait for a while, disconnect the charger, connect it again and retry. If charging still fails, contact your local Nokia dealer.
