Is there anyway i can stop the 7650 from using polyphonic ringtones (other than using wav files) and force it to play the tones properly?
cheers

er, what do you mean?
i mean can you use 'normal' ring tones as in those that are used by the 3310 etc and all the older phones. My old phone did not have polyphonic ring tones and it is the only thing i hate about my 7650 - IMO they sound unbelievably camp!
hope this is clearer, my mate said he thought he could do it on his 7210, so i thought you should be able to on the 7650,
matt
If you download a monophonic ringtone to your 7650 it will work, as only one channel will play.
You cannot change the installed ringtones and as far as I know, there is no way to force the 7650 to play it's installed polyphonic tones as mono.

P.S. they do sound a little camp!
cheers bob, thats all i needed to know

Hi
You can use Ringtone Studio to turn Polyphonic ringtones into Monophonic by deleting some of the tracks. You just have to make sure which track containsthe majority of the song by muting the track first.
Far better import the song you want as a midi file and edit it with Ringtone stodio. If you can find the song as a midi file on the internet you can use it a s a ringtone
