OLED Spin

The N85's OLED screen is superb in most light conditions, but as has been documented previously, not that great in bright sunlight.

To be honest, I find it barely readable in direct sunlight and certainly worse than my N95. Oddly, my sister's Sony E 9something with its 'inferior display technology' looks great.

Okay, so horses for courses BUT my prompt for this post was watching Stuart Stilloway of Samsung (America) on TV claiming that one of the advantages of OLED is its sunlight performance.

Am I missing something here?

You're right, the n85 screen does suck in direct sunlight. It's a brilliant screen under normal lighting though. Maybe Samsung have made their own adjustments to the OLED fitted to their phones, like a backlight to help increase the screen brightness in bright lighting conditions.
