How much battery drain from background processes? — S60 (Series 60)

Hi,

I'm already running Handy Shell on my 5800 XpressMusic, so that's one app always running in the background. But I'm also liking sbsh's Reminders (http://www.sbsh.net/products/symbian_s60/reminders) a bit, but I'm a bit worried about having yet another app in the background 24/7. How much extra battery drain can one expect for having 1 or 2 app's running in the background all day?

Or is it so little that it doesn't really matter, as long as they don't require an internet connection to be available meanwhile?

It depends very much on what the application does. If it mostly idle, then it doesn't matter much, but if it does intense calculations or uses the network constantly, then it starts to matter.
