Im shocked that nobody has posted anything regarding the Omnia HD (i refuse to call it the i8910)

I am really looking forward to this device but im slightly worried about Samsungs support for firmware upgrades. Also how the devices PC Suite will work.

I currently use a E90, and for me the Omnia HD seems like the logical upgrade as i spend most of my time browsing the internet.

Has anybody had any experience with the newer Samsung devices? Whats the Samsung eqivalent PC suite like? Also how do they issue firmware upgrades?

Just out of interest does anybody have anything negative to say about the device because it seems to be ticking alot of boxes for me 😉

Samsung has its own equivalent of PC suite, called Samsung PC Studio.

About the firmware upgrade, you should take a look at the Samsung's S60 section, and you might probably get the idea. In short, not so impressive.

Samsung's PC Suite is actually Nokia's PC Suite code, simply re-branded; so it works in exactly the same way with the same levels of functionality.

What's quite amusing is that the Samsung iteration of PC Suite currenly WILL install on Windows 7 beta, whereas the Nokia version of the same code, refuses point blank to install 😊

Concerning firmware updates Samsung have stated that they intend to support this phone more than they have done with previous devices. What that will mean in reality time will tell. The pc suite can't be more buggy than the Nokia version which is proof that countless updates can still leave you with a half-finished product.
