I've watched about 20 different videos of the N97 on the web from various consumer electronics shows.
One thing that they all have in common (besides featuring the N97) is that these so-called techno-blogger types cannot seem to find a decent video camera and figure out how to operate it for close-up (macro-zoom) photography in a high-glare environment (like a trade show hall).
Come on guys!
- Read the manuals.
- Get a polarizing filter.
- Set the white balance before you start filming so the colors are true.
- Use the Digital Picture Stabilization setting or get a tripod/unipod.
- Learn to use the Manual settings for focal length and depth of field so that the autofocus doesn't keep changing.
So far the best (but with lots of room for improvement) video was an impromptu one from a blogger called "tnkgrl" which lasts 15 minutes and actually does something with the N97 beyond moving widgets around the screen. link: http://tnkgrl.wordpress.com/
I'd really like to see someone open a Word document, an Excel spreadsheet, a Powerpoint presentation or PDF file on one of them to see what the experience is like. Or better yet--show the email client.
Please post links to your favorite N97 videos in this thread and PLEASE comment on them so that we can all benefit.
