Google YouTube app problem

I downloaded the google YouTube app which is 1000 times better than the mobile youtube page or mobitubia but it will only play videos when I'm within range of a WiFi network. If I'm relying on my wireless carrier's (AT&T) network, it will just say it's loading forever.

Not sure if it's related but my RealPlayer will do this too when I'm trying to play a video off a website. If I click on the video link, RealPlayer will open but then won't allow me to connect to my AT&T network but rather only offer WiFi networks to connect to.

Do I have something setup wrong on my phone? The only access point I have set up for the internet is my AT&T one so it makes no sense why it wouldn't connect to this for videos. I can browse the internet fine so i'm really confused. Thanks for any help.
