Hi there,
I bought an N85 and got the unlimited O2 web bolt-on. I was hoping to use this, along with the FM transmitter feature, to be able to listen again via iPlayer in the car.
Unfortunately iPlayer seems to be insisting on a WiFi connection. Is there any way round this, or is a 3G connection not up to iPlayer use?
Thanks,
Chris
Originally iPlayer would only work via wi-fi on the o2 network, i'm not sure if this is still the case though. Uninstall iPlayer and then reinstall it as there could be a newer version that's been released.
I think you go to bbc.co.uk/iplayer on your mobile to download it. It might also be available from the Download! menu on your phone's menu.
i player will work on 3G. I also, am unsure about o2 network.
It definitely works on Orange over 3G - I often use it to listen to BBC radio 5 when they stream live sport (because this is normally broadcast in the MW band the built in radio hardware is no good!!!!)
hello....................all
you can, il help you its easy, first thing is that it ONLY works on a WIFI connection, thats a BBCI limitation, secondly v1.0 only works v1.5 does not, you have to hack the v1.0 and add n85 to the list............................

iPlayer works fine over 3g for me. I am on Orange but my phone is debranded with a different product code. I am on version 1.6.0 of iPlayer which is currently the newest version. I haven't had to hack my phone either.
I have an Orange N85 and I can only use wifi for iPlayer. Is this a BBC thing or Orange? Is there anyway aroun this?
