Oops... wrong product code, how can I downgrade the firmware on my e61i?

Hi,

I've just debranded my UK Nokia e61i to product code 0545785 but apparently that's the wrong one as the keyboard layout appears different. The rest of the phone works ok but obviously I need to fix the keyboard.

The right code appears to be 0531212 so I've changed the phone to this but there's a problem: the latest firware available for 0545785 is 3.0633.69.00 (which I installed after debranding) and the lastest for 0531212 is 2.0633.65.01. Now the Nokia Software Installer won't install 2.0633.65.01 for 0531212 because it's older than 3.0633.69.00 for 0545785.

Is there any way to force install a firmware version over a newer one?

Cheers,
Pete

I have the exact same issue as the OP, same phone, same product code, same scenario. If NSU doesn't let you downgrade, then is there another software besides NSU to install firmware?
