Apologies to those who already know this, but it was news to me and perhaps to other people too: if you run an internet radio station you can add it to Nokia's online directory of stations for free by visiting this link. The directory is used by Nokia's Internet Radio application currently available on Symbian S60 3rd Edition phones and Maemo internet tablets, and allows people to browse and listen to listed stations on their devices through wi-fi or the phone network.
Read on in the full article.
heres copy of my feedback to them:
"the fact that the newer devices like n85 n78 e66 e71 some embeded some dowloadable can not plat aac or aac+ streams really sucks as my favourite stations are aac+ encoded as quality vs encoding size beats mp3 hands down. yet support for it is dropped. and dont give me hardware does not support it as i am using core player with their own aac codec and it streams quite nicely just as my n95 did with internet radio. goodbye internet radio! what a shame!"
Erm... are you sure you have everything set up correctly? As far as I know the internet radio app should work fine with AAC and AAC+, and all S60 phones support those audio standards too, they have done for years.
According to the Nokia link I just gave in the news item:
"Currently, Nokia Internet Radio supports SHOUTcast/Icecast HTTP streaming protocol for MP3, AAC, and AAC+ encoded audio. "
I read this and remembered that I'd asked the (UK) Highways Agency to put their traffic radio stream onto Nokia Internet Radio, so I emailed them again (rather stroppily, frankly) to ask why they still hadn't done it. A gentleman has just replied to me and said that they did, in fact, submit their stream to Nokia some time ago, but were turned down because it "does not match the needs for Nokia's service portfolio".
Embarrassed? You bet.
Convinced Nokia are stupid for turning down a potential killer app? Certainly.

The highways agency give a mobile url:
http://www.trafficradio.org.uk/mobile/ which iirc was announced here when it was launched. However, I'm sure I didn't have any joy with it at that time but I just tried one of the PLS links again and it amazed my by automatically launching Nokia Internet Radio and playing just fine.
Thanks very much for this info, Tzer2! I love using Nokia's internet radio, and have often wondered how to add stations I've discovered through other avenues. This is helpful!

My E90 doesn't seem to have the application preinstalled. I see from the FAQ that I can get it from here, but that page doesn't work so well on my E90 - probably because of stupid flash taking so long to process.
Does anyone know a URL that I can use to download the app directly onto my phone?
Well Sounds strange that we can add the radio chanenls by Online Radio Websites. Actually i am listening radio channels from myradiomix.com and there some of teh radio channels are my favorite so can anyone of you please suggest me that how can i add the radio channels from myradiomix.xom to my mobile.
Thanks in advance
Hi David,
There isn't a specific version for the E90, I use the E51 version which I got here: http://europe.nokia.com/NOKIA_MASTER_NOKIA_COM_5/Explore_services/Nokia_Music/download.html
You must operate it from the external screen, as it does not support the E90's internal screen and will not open if you initiate the app with the E90 folded open.
Cheers,
Mark.
