Mine is broken too. The button to reduce the volume broke off the main board on the phone. Luckily I still have it so I could solder it back on at some point.
In the meantime, I connect the hands free that came with the phone to change my volume when watching videos and listening to music. Volume for phone calls can be changed during a call by pressing left and right on the directional pad / button (Ya know, the one just under the screen).
Ringing volume is changed in the same way under Profiles.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
Still got 4 months to go on my contract, until phone replacement .. so is gonna be a pain.
Can I ask then... does the flash work on your camera? Mine doesn't, and it stopped working about the same time as my volume button breaking off, so I'm wondering if I solder it back on it'll complete the circuit and fix both problems...
Hi
I too have had this problem occur to me a week ago. I was quoted 60+ from CarPhone Warehouse but googled for repairs in my local area, Glasgow.
They told me that a repair would be done free of charge as Nokia phones have a 2 yr warranty in place. I took it in personally to a large companny called TRS, 32 Fountain Drive, Inchinnan on Thursday evening and got it back today sorted.
I bought my Nokia 95 8gb off Ebay on close to 2 years ago and have updated firmware, provider, etc and had no problems. Their number is 0141 812 1111.
Best wishes guys
Cheers
Jim
oh and by the way i am on pay-and-go
The switches if need to be replaced cost pennies and I have a couple
@albie, if you're phones still under contract, you should be able to return it as faulty to your Service Provider. At least I was able to do that with O2 for exactly the same fault and they sent me a recondition unit in return. Granted, I then had to reinstall apps and personalise it again, but it still had about 6 months to run on my contract, so didn't want to last it out with that fault.
